For the second collection, I chose Bernd Ribbeck, a German artist, as my inspiration of this collection. I chose two of his artwork as my basis. Bernd Ribbeck uses uncommon medias, including ball pen and varnish, to create an illusion of light and shadow. I mimicked his stroke and used it onto garments. For silhouette, I enlarged the proportion of Ribbeck’s artwork and make them into patterns. I experienced different ways of draping in order to create new shapes of garments. In the end, I managed to create this collection with the patterns transformed from the paintings and the ball pen stroke inspired by Ribbeck.

This collection is all about to reconstruct the artist’s artwork then applying such concept to human bodies, in other words, to reinterpret the established artwork in a form of fashion design.

A contemporary artist--- Bernd Ribbeck, inspired me, and I chose two of his artwork as my basis. Bernd Ribbeck is known for his special choice of media and his passion for geometric shapes. He uses ball pen and varnish as his main drawing tool, which inspired me to do the same thing in my textile experiments. For the shape, I directly transform his drawing into patterns, and started draping crazy shapes.

I continued to drape and design more construction detail. After draping the possible shapes, I put them onto model to experiment different shape and silhouette.

I picked out some silhouette and try different combination of color and textures. In the end, I picked 8 looks and illustrate my ideas with photo shop as my outcome for fashion illustration.
